Word UK's new Focus (14th Jul 2001)

Word UK have announced the launch of a new imprint called Focus. The new label is intended to be a "home for the best contemporary Christian music in the UK and Europe today" and will initially be the launchpad for Phatfish, RiverDeep and Norway's Salvation Street who make their UK debut at this year's Greenbelt festival. The label will be headed up by Word UK's music manager, Shelley Needham and will be launched with a gig in Milton Keynes on August 31st. There seems to have been renewed investment in the UK scene from several major players recently, and the launch of Focus comes soon after news of Alliance's signing of Kindle and ICC's launch of their Elevation label.

Delirious? in Dove Awards Scandal (10th Feb 1999)

Okay, well that's just because I think that the dove awards are a scandal. Delirious? have been nominated for three of these CCM awards, "Best Group," "Best Song" for "Deeper", and "Best Rock Album" for King Of Fools. They're up against stiff opposition in both categories from established CCM names, but we'll just have to wait and see. The guys recently picked up the award for album of the year in Dallas' first CCM awards ceremony, having been nominated for four awards.
