Grassrootz Festival (13th May 2002)

The organisers tell us that this year's grassrootz festival is going to be bigger and better than last year's huge success - around 2000 people are expected to attend this year's one day festival in Kent on 20th July from noon til 10pm. Acts so far booked include YFriday, Steve, My BottleRockit, Cashu, My Kid Sister etc as well as poet Stewart Henderson and Escapologist Steve Legg, and there will also be a range of stalls and other activities.

YFriday To Release Single (21st Sep 2001)

YFriday are to release their song "Head Over Heels" as a mainstream single on October 15th. Unlike recent mainstream singles from bands like Delirious, this single is intended as a worship track and is being released by an established Christian label: Survivor/Kingsway. The single will be released on an enhanced CD, containing a video and a remix of "Closer" from the band's first album Rainmaker.

Tidbits (28th Feb 2001)

Flik are currently working on a new EP and have recently signed with a new manager. YFriday, who'll be playing at the ne:one event at Newcastle Arena soon, have just finished recording their second album which should be out on March 23rd. Immerse have a lot of new tunes and are currently looking for bookings. Juliet Turner will be supporting Roger McGuinn from the Byrds on his forthcoming UK tour.

YFriday Plan (27th Sep 2000)

Having recently returned from another trip to Ireland, yfriday are now preparing to record the follow up to their Rainmaker album. They will be doing some gigs in Scotland and the Midlands during October, before heading into the studio with producer Neil Costello during November.

yfriday Recruit Bassist (21st May 2000)

Increasingly popular worship band yfriday have just announced that they have found a new bass player to take over from the departing Ben Culkin. The new member is Danny Smith, a multi-instrumentalist from Hartlepool. Danny has already been playing with the band as a stand-in during their Spring Harvest and Easter People gigs and will now join the band as they tour extensively over the summer and begin pre-production on the follow-up to their Rainmaker album which will be recorded later in the year.

Cross Rhythms Begin Anew (16th Feb 2000)

Cross Rhythms have announced that their festival this year will be called "Genesis 2000: New Beginnings". The event will have a new evangelistic focus and the lineup so far includes Noel Richards, yfriday and Tomorrow's Girl.

yfriday for the Alpha Zone (02nd Feb 2000)

Hotly tipped worship act yfriday, who are currently on tour with Noel Richards and whose debut album Rainmaker was recently released on Survivor Records will be recording at the MTV studios in March for the channel 5 show the Alpha Zone. The band will record two songs and some interview segments for broadcast later in the year. The band will be leading youth worship at Spring Harvest and Easter People and are already demoing tracks for their second album.
