As we reported previously, Bristol based indie rockers Steve have signed with US label Forefront and they've now started work on their new album. They're planning to keep their website up to date with news from the studio and are hoping to tour extensively once the album's completed. It seems that Andy Hunter of Trip has also been signed by Forefront.
Superhero have had to postpone their trip to the USA, planned for later this month. Instead the band hope to arrive stateside some time during the summer. They've also experienced delays in the release of two new tracks which were to be available through their website and on a limited edition CD, but hope to have them available very soon.
Various bits of news have recently been announced by Bristol based New Generation Ministries, who support a number of bands. A track from drum'n'bass outfit Trip, "Cream Tea", has been signed by Good Looking Records, described by Trip member Andy Hunter as "one of the fore running drum and bass labels". Steve have just released a second EP made up of demo tracks they have been sending out to labels. Tomorrow's Girl are working on their debut album which they hope to release later in the year. Original member Sue has left the group to be replaced by Rachel.
The year is shaping up well for Fire Fly. The band will be playing at Youth Alive along with artists including Delirious? and have recently added a mechanical member to their lineup -- they describe their developing sound as "trip hop, skip and jump". The band's management have been in negotiations with a selection of labels and a contract has recently been issued for consideration.
