The Honey Thieves are planning to release a new EP next month. The EP has a working title of Blue Eyed World. They're currently filling out their new website. The band's drummer Andy Chittick has recently been in touch to let us know about the Acoustic Cafe, an event he's running in Scotland to provide a venue for adults to come and listen to music in a relaxed atmosphere.
Kenny Lyon (flute/whistles/harmonica/etc) is to leave the Honey Thieves to work as a computer technician at a school in Pakistan. The band have no plans to replace him as yet, but are courting interest from Asaph Records in Germany.
Scotland's IndigoEcho and Nervous Passenger have had a busy couple of weeks. Over the weekend of June 4th-6th they played the Crossover Festival along with Halcyon Days, Fabulous, The Electrics, Booley, The Honey Thieves and more. The event was a great success and plans are already afoot to develop it for next year. The bands also played at a Jubilee 2000 event last weekend in Edinburgh where they drew mainstream press attention. Nervous Passenger have announced they will be playing at this year's Greenbelt festival.
Scottish folk-rock band the Honey Thieves have a new demo. Presenting three new songs, the demo suggests some exciting new directions for the band as they seek for support in the recording of a new album. Anyone interested in booking or supporting a very promising band in the Waterboys vein should contact them. See their contact details.
Okay, they're not British, but they're my favourite band and their support acts are British. So here are the Vigilantes of Love UK tour dates:
