Christmas Rock Night Germany (27th Nov 2001)

The organisers of the annual Christmas Rock Night in Germany have been in touch to ask us to remind our readers that the debut performance of Split Level frontman Adrian Thompson's new band, The Joy Brigade, will be at their event next month. Adrian's band will include Trevor Michael on guitar/backing vocals, Mark Prentice on bass and Paul Evans on drums. The Electrics will also be keeping up the British presence at CRN as they preview material from their new studio album which will be released in Germany on Pleitgeier Records. Word is that the folk-rock core of The Electrics' sound has remained intact but can now be heard being played faster.

The Electrics Complete Recording (13th Jun 2001)

The Electrics havebeen in touch to let us know they've finished recording oftheir latest album, again produced by Phil Madeira andassisted by This Train member Jordan. This is the firstElectrics album to feature Jim Devlin as a full time bandmember and he describes it as a "big rockin, celtic monsterof a thing". The band's website is currently offline butthey hope to have a new one in place soon.

Electrics Recording Again (30th Jan 2001)

The Electrics have signed with Plietigier Records in Germany and will soon begin recording at Sammy Horner's home studio with producer Phil Madeira, who also worked on the band's last release. Sammy will also be recording a follow up to his Ceilidh Electric album with Tony Silcock of Psalmistry and is planning another childrens' album at some point. As if that weren't enough work, Sammy's also planning to set up his own label at some point in the near future.

Electrics Album Plans (27th Sep 2000)

The Electrics have had to put their planned tour of Europe on hold until March/April 2001 as a result of complications with the dates. The band will be using the rest of this year to prepare a new album which they hope to begin recording towards the end of the year as well as fitting in their annual trip to Christmas Rock Night in Germany. David Lyon, the band's accordion player, has departed to work on solo projects.

Tidbits (16th Feb 2000)

Juliet Turner is currently in the studio working on tracks for the follow-up to her underrated debut, Let's Hear It For Pizza. The Electrics have recently recorded a cover of "Bad Indigestion" (originally performed by the Lost Dogs) for an upcoming tribute album to Terry Taylor/Daniel Amos. Julie Lord has recently revamped and moved her website. The Obstreperous, a recent addition to our band database, start work on their first album in April.

Delirious? Rock Germany (15th Sep 1999)

Among the latest batch of bookings for Germany's Christmas Rock Night is the seemingly omni-present delirious?. The boys from Littlehampton will make their German debut headlining the Friday night, and will be joined over the weekend by the Electrics, Split Level, and Sammy Horner (presenting his celtic praise live show). ICC are hoping to ship the live compilation recorded at last year's event by the end of this month.

Electrics Live On (15th Sep 1999)

Following the ending of their contract with US-based Five Minute Walk Records, the Electrics look set to keep importers busy when their long-awaited live album hits the shelves towards the end of this month courtesy of ICC.

Celtic and Techno? (05th Aug 1999)

Electrics frontman Sammy Horner has a new album coming out through Word any time now. Horner has taken ideas from his series of Celtic Praise albums, and combining them with techno programming to produce what promises to be an intriguing fusion.

Exciting Times for Indigo and Passengers (16th Jun 1999)

Scotland's IndigoEcho and Nervous Passenger have had a busy couple of weeks. Over the weekend of June 4th-6th they played the Crossover Festival along with Halcyon Days, Fabulous, The Electrics, Booley, The Honey Thieves and more. The event was a great success and plans are already afoot to develop it for next year. The bands also played at a Jubilee 2000 event last weekend in Edinburgh where they drew mainstream press attention. Nervous Passenger have announced they will be playing at this year's Greenbelt festival.

Christmas Rock Night on CD (02nd Dec 1998)

The well established Christmas Rock Night in Germany will this year be recorded by ICC Records for a compilation live album to be released in the new year. Christmas Rock Night was the forum that led to US record deals for Split Level, Fono, and The Electrics. This year's event will see the final performance of Grammatrain as well as appearances from a wide range of other artists from several countries.
