New Cathy B album speeding its way to release
New Waves of Cephas speculation

Superhero celebrated completion of the recording of their new album with two big shows: Glasgow's Christmas Rock Night and Delirious' Christmas show at the Forum, Camden. Current plans are for the band to release a single (distribution plans aren't clear as yet) in February which will serve as a preview of the album which will appear later in the year. The album has been produced by Alan Branch (who's worked with Bjork, Blur and Primal Scream among others) and if the live sound and demos currently circulating are anything to go by sees the band going for a more expansive sound, reminiscent in places of acts like Muse.
Superhero are currently in the process of recording their next album which is due to be released through Fierce Distribution some time in the near future. For the next week the band are encouraging fans to forget Big Brother and head over to their web site to see webcasts of their recording sessions at NGM.
After months of speculation, Superhero have been signed up by Delirious-owned Fierce Distribution. The band have been signed to record their second album for the label ready for release in Europe this summer and in America early next year. The band will be working with producer Alan Branch (Blur, Nine Inch Nails, Bjork) and hope to precede the album launch with a single in August.
Cathy Burton's highly anticipated solo album Burn Out is to be distributed by Fierce Distribution, the new distribution arm of Delirious' Furious? Records operation. The album is to be released some time between March 23rd and 25th in the UK. Cathy last night played two sets at the Kashmir Klub in London, including one through a drum monitor which was the only amplification available after a power cut. She will be appearing at Spring Harvest. Fierce Distribution continue to build their roster, with plans to release the new album by American act All Star United at the same time as Cathy's album appears and negotiations under way with other acts including Superhero.
Superhero have been talking to several record labels over the past month, both in the UK and America, and they say it seems likely that they will sign a deal before the end of the year. They have also been approached by a mainstream label in Glasgow who want to sign them on to a development deal, release a single and see where that takes them. The band are weighing up their options. They have been asked to travel to Iceland in the new year to do a short tour, in conjunction with a radio station. The radio station will be sending a rep to see them play at Christmas Rock Night in Glasgow on Friday 7th Dec. Next year looks to be a busy one for the band. On top of everything else, American web based music outlet www.cdbaby.com are arranging a US tour for Superhero, which will take place during late May and early June.
For some years now the Christmas Rock Night event in Germany has attracted many rock fans from across Europe. This year two events in the UK are hoping to follow in that tradition, with Superhero, IndigoEcho and others taking to the stage for two consecutive nights in Edinburgh and Broughton, and Bushbaby and Fire Fly playing support to Caroline Alexander in London. Check out the gig guide for more details.
Superhero write to tell us that they've been busy recently gigging and writing a lot of new material. They recently played at the Crossrhythms festival and are currently preparing for Greenbelt. After that they're planning to start focussing a little more on mainstream gigs as well as starting work on a second album before the end of the year.

Superhero will be appearing on TV twice during May, on the Alpha Zone (Channel 5) on the 6th and on Eikon (ITV) on the 20th. Superhero have been recording more demos recently and are currently pushing them to record companies. IndigoEcho will appear on Eikon this Sunday.
IndigoEcho have been getting some mainstream radio and TV coverage with their album One being played on Edinburgh's main local radio station and a performance due to appear on a new Scottish TV programme called 'eikon'. A couple of Britlinks-listed bands are taking part in big competitions in the near future. They've also experienced delays in the release of two new tracks which were to be available through their website and on a limited edition CD, but hope to have them available very soon.

IndigoEcho, Nervous Passenger, Superhero and Aieris have been receiving a lot of publicity in the build up to their gig at King Tuts tomorrow night, including a listing on the Radio One website. The band are off to the USA in January and will spend Easter touring Norway. They hope to fit in a UK tour during the early part of 2001 too. Warming up for their slots at the Edinburgh and Greenbelt festivals, IndigoEcho are set to play at the Edinburgh Virgin Megastore. The band will be appearing on both the BT-sponsored Ross Band stage and the Room 3 Records venue at the Edinburgh festival this year. Don't forget that IndigoEcho's label mates Superhero are our indie of the month this month.

Instead you will need to visit www.egroups.com/group/superheromail. The band's contact details have also changed slightly and their band index listing has been updated.
In the run up to the release of their new album, Superhero have added a chat room and discussion board to their website as well as relaunching their e-mailing list. The band launch Burn and Dazzle on July 15th on Room 3 Records. Look out for updates to the Room 3 Records and Nervous Passenger websites coming very soon.
