Secret Archives of CDRs? (12th Apr 2002)

Secret Archives of the Vatican report that their new release is almost ready. They have yet to decide on a name for the double-album. To fill the time before the record appears, both members of the group have been working on side-projects. Louis has been working on a deep-dub orientated project titled Uncle Riotous and plans to release a short-run CDR release soon. Vince will be releasing a short-run CDR titled Sympathy For Hosea under the name Thousand Yard Prayer shortly. He describes it as "housey-breakbeat dub with Persian and Arabian melodies." The guys have also been doing various remix and mastering projects for other artists.

Secret Archives Dust Off Single (20th Aug 2001)

Secret Archives of the Vatican are preparing for the release of their new album 400 Prophets with the launch of 50 minute single, Dust: the remixes. Containing eight different mixes of the track, kicked off by one from Psalmistry, the archivers promise that the CD will bring "banging tribal dance music screaming into your home". You can catch Secret Archives as part of the hip-hop events at Greenbelt this weekend.

Secret Archives Prophesy (16th May 2001)

Secret Archives of the Vatican have revealed that their next album will be called 400 Prophets and that they hope to have it out later this year. This will follow Reformation which has gained the duo a lot of attention and is currently on sale through amazon.co.uk and amazon.com. Secret Archives continue to do well on besonic.com, having been included on a couple of compilation albums recently and are also keeping busy with lots of remix work, most recently for Systematic.

Track Flowers for Secret Archives (03rd Jan 2001)

Secret Archives of the Vatican are reworking the track "Little Flower" from their Reformation album for inclusion on a compilation album being put together by besonic.com. This is the latest development in the band's successful relationship with the site.

Guru Rabbi Teacher (20th Dec 2000)

The Secret Archives of the Vatican track "Guru Rabbi Teacher" has been racing up the charts at besonic.com, with over 1000 downloads during the first half of December. The band's series of compilation CDs, made up of tracks from various artists listed at besonic.com, have also been selling well recently.

Freedom Music Compilation (13th Dec 2000)

Secret Archives of the Vatican are still awaiting the release of the Freedom Music Compilation CD which is to feature their track "We Will Not Hate (Progressive Christian Death Punk Mix)". The album is also due to feature Fono, Ashen Mortality, Dust, Careless, Splat, Why Not Wednesday, Elishe, D'original and Focused on Freedom. No release date has yet been announced, but we'll bring you more details as soon as we can.

Secret Archives Compiled (24th Oct 2000)

Secret Archives of the Vatican have put together two compilation albums tied in with their pages at besonic.com. Both titled Deep In The Archives the CDs are a collection of some of the band's favourite independent tracks. They've also uploaded a few more tracks to their page, including one rare older track only previously available on an obscure compilation.

Secret Archives of the Vatican have just completed a remix of the track "Father of the Fatherless" for friend Chris Roe. The track is available for download along with a number of other SAOTV tracks at besonic.com. The new Secret Archives album is now due for release early next year.

Quick Updates (23rd Aug 2000)

Rodney Cordner has just returned from the Peace Festival in the USA where he played with Pete Seeger. He's reuniting with Jean-Pierre Rudolph for a tour of Germany over the end of August and beginning of September and they'll be touring Ireland during September... Secret Archives of the Vatican now have some t-shirts available through their website.

The Archiving Continues (26th Mar 2000)

House Molari is the title of a new hard jungle project due out of the Broken Drum stable (home to Secret Archives of the Vatican) later this year. The project will be based Indian and Arabic rhythmic theory and will feature plenty of tabla and other traditional instruments. SAOTV now have enough tunes down for a double album. The new material is described as both phatter and more influenced by traditional non-western musical forms. It will include some live sitar and rap from MinistriOfDefence. The band hope to have the album out in the autumn.

Busy Year for Secret Archives (16th Feb 2000)

Secret Archives of the Vatican have a busy year ahead of them. As well as working on the follow-up to their Reformation album, which may or may not turn out as a double-album, both members of the group are pursuing side projects which should result in albums later in the year. We'll keep you informed.

Jonny Parks is currently inEastbourne, laying down tracks at ICCstudios for his debut solo album. Delirious? have beennominated for two Dove Awards: "Rock RecordedSong" for the track Gravity, and "Modern Rock/Alternative Album of theyear" for Mezzamorphis. The video for "It's OK" has been playlistedby MTV Europe. Tribe of Dan were asked tostep in after Bernard Butler had topull out of his scheduled appearance at Ronnie Scott's in Birmingham. Tenth Leper are celebratingthe launch of their new album, ReturnedWith Thanks. SecretArchives of the Vatican have been hard at work studying themusic of myriad cultures as they prepare to release their second CD. Theysay the new album will be "more ethnic, but also dancier" and are planningto invest in some new recording equipment to help them on their way. IndigoEcho have managed toget their new album, One distributedto all the HMV stores in Scotland as well as into their local VirginMegastore. A lot of opportunities seem to be opening up for the band, onthe same Room 3 Records label as Nervous Passenger andSuperhero. 3 Second Memory recentlysupported Dodgy at the Plymouth Pavilion.

Secret Archives of the Lizard Festival (19th May 1999)

Secret Archives of the Vatican have been booked to play at the Lizard festival in Cornwall on August 8th. Secret Archives will be appearing on the same stage as acts including Indian Ropeman and Badmarsh & Shri. The guys will be travelling to Cornwall along with crowds of people hoping to catch the solar eclipse...

Reformation at New Dawn (02nd Dec 1998)

Reformation, the much acclaimed release from Secret Archives of the Vatican is now available with a credit card via the New Dawn Music website for only £10, as well as being distributed through J C Distribution. N-Soul to reveal Secret Archives (16th Sep 1998)

Secret Archives Of The Vatican's track "Reformation" from the album of the same name has been signed up by US-based N-Soul for inclusion on their next Eclectica sampler. The album has received good reviews in both Christian and mainstream press and looks set to be the most successful recording to emerge under the Secret Archives name.
