SCSI have become the latest Britlinks-listed act to sign an American record deal, having just joined the roster of Sovereign Productions, a Californian label which will provide them with distribution across the USA. The group have also been signed by Word in the UK, providing distribution to Christian Music outlets across the UK. The band are planning an intensive touring schedule for 2001, along with a new website.
One of the year's more intriguing events is being planned for July 30th in Swansea. Xtreme World is a one-day, two stage festival with a mainstage headlined by acts including Motorhead and Therapy. The second stage, however, features a lineup of artists including The Alarm, Glenn Kaiser (Rez), Fono, Blueprint, The Electrics, SCSI, 3rd Day Rising, Crucifer, Booley, Lorraine King and Cupboard. The Creation Festival, due to take place this October in Scotland have announced a provisional lineup including Technicolour, Crucifer, Booley, SCSI and As If.... The organisers are still having some trouble arranging a license with the local council so site details are not available yet.
SCSI, the artists formerly known asDecember Blue, release their newalbum Crave on the 4th March. The album starts a new chapter in theband's unfolding story, bringing in a range of new sounds, with influencesfrom acts like Garbage and Texas. The album was produced by Americanhusband and wife team Tim and Carla White.
Not a choice of computer peripheral options, but rather the first of the recent spate of name changes to hit these pages. Irish rock band December Blue have changed their name to SCSI and are gearing up for the release of their latest album Crave. The album was produced by husband and wife duo Tim and Carla White and is due for release in November.
Northern Ireland-based December Blue are planning to release a single in early 1999, with an album to follow at the end of the summer.
