The H3 Christian Music Festival is a new event launching this year in Milton Keynes. Running over the 22nd and 23rd June 2002, the event is being run as a benefit for the Bridgebuilder trust who work to promote the gospel in the schools of Milton Keynes. Bands booked so far include Kato, Bryn Haworth, As If..., Bell Jar, Cathy Burton, cult Greenbelt favourite Griff Pilchard and a range of others. The organisers promise camping facilities for 300, great food and drink, craft stalls, record/book shop, quiet area, Sunday morning services, and a relaxed atmosphere. Tickets are now available at all St Andrews Bookshops, priced at £15 to the end of March and £25 thereafter. Tickets also available by post from the address in our festivals listings.
With the addition this morning of triflesky and Jewels the band index part of this site now contains over 500 listings. We're trying to develop them to include photos and biographies -- please bear with us as this takes quite a while, and if you're in touch with any of the bands listed on the site, it'd be good if you could encourage them to send us their bios. Also, if you know of any other bands or solo artists we should be listing please do get in touch.
We don't normally run a news story on new bands added to the site, but there've been three new ones today and we're also looking for some help gathering information... First up is Maddy Leigh Blues Band who are currently recording an album with Meltdown Music. Another addition is Rif who are currently working on their second album which they hope to release this summer. And finally there's the Alliance-signed Kindle, featuring former Blueberry guitarist Dan Boreham. We're currently trying to track down up to date contact details for Bushbaby and Athlete (formerly Wondercub/Cub), so if anyone can help us out there, do drop us a line. Don't forget you can discuss these and other bands on our discussion boards.
Greenbelt fringe favourite Griff Pilchard will be making his last ever appearance at the festival on August 25th. The set will include lots of new material and some covers. He will also be releasing a limited edition CD entitled The Very Best of Chamberlain Brown as tribute to his time at Greenbelt.
