New Mal Pope Release (01st Dec 2001)

Mal Pope has recently released his latest album, The Ring, which comes as a result of three months locked in his Mumbles studio. The CD features fourteen tracks, including "Tables Turn", a duet with Bonnie Tyler, and "Woody Allen", a rocker written and performed along with Martyn Joseph.

Mal and Stocki Worldwide (19th Feb 2001)

Mal Pope's show on HTV Wales, Zac's Place, is now available over the web. The show's website at www.htvwales.com/zacsplace includes realvideo archives of the first two shows in the series. Steve Stockman has also recently discovered that his show "Rhythms and Soul" is streamed through the BBC Ulster website. Click here to listen in to the station - Stocki's show is on at 8pm (GMT) on a Sunday evening.

Mal Pope's New Show (22nd Jan 2001)

Mal Pope is currently working on a new series for HTV Wales. The show is called Zac's Place (presumably connected with the church-pub group of the same name) and will be filmed in Swansea. Guests are to include the Ragamuffin Band (USA), Martyn Joseph, author Adrian Plass, poet Stewart Henderson and the Archbishop of Wales, Rowan Williams. Mal and band recently appeared at the wedding of former superstar choirboy, Aled Jones.

Mal Pope Playlisted (13th Dec 2000)

Mal Pope's new Christmas single has been playlisted by a number of radio stations in the USA. An MP3 of a track from his new album has just been made available for free download from icuk.com. Tracks are also available in RealAudio through Mal's website and the album can be ordered online.

Tidbits (29th Nov 2000)

Mal Pope has just launched e-commerce facilities from www.mphrecords.co.uk -- the first new release through the site will be his new Christmas recording. Steve Lawson is hoping to do a short tour of California early next year. Iain Archer has put his album release plans on hold for the time being. Cephas plan to turn their gig on the 14th December into a bit of a Christmas party, with free food for all. They plan to release a new CD in April.

Tidbits (24th Nov 2000)

Mal Pope is to release an internet-only Christmas CD. Tim Sherrington recently visited Premier Radio who interviewed him and ran a review of his latest album. Work has begun on a new Shine MK album which is said to take the girls in a more r+b/dance direction. Paradox (who describe themselves as "holy black sludge metal") are about to release a new demo CD. Stairway are currently working on material for a new album, which they hope to release next year. George Luke has a new World Music show on UCB Europe.

Zac's Place (16th Nov 2000)

The Exousia Trust, a charitable trust which supports a church-in-pub called Zac's Place has released Zac's Place the album, a compilation featuring artists including Martyn Joseph, Mal Pope, Lorraine King, Raisinskin, Rob Barrowdale, Phil James, Cupboard and others.

Pope And Elton John (26th Mar 2000)

Mal Pope recently returned from some time spent recording in Nashville to learn that his latest single, a triple A-side disc featuring "Golden Days", "If I Wasn't There", and "How It Hurts" has been playlisted by BBC Radio 2. Elton John sings backing vocals on the latter two tracks. Pope has also been busy recently playing in Belinda Carlisle's backing band and is also hoping to secure a promotional deal with a major high street retailer very soon.

Free Song from Pope (10th Nov 1999)

Mal Pope is celebrating the build up to Christmas with a freely downloadable version of his new single "Won't Be Christmas". The single is to be released simultaneously in the UK and the US. Pope Single on TV (27th Oct 1999)

Mal Pope appeared on ITV's Sunday Show last Sunday to showcase his latest single, "Bread of Heaven". The single has already clocked up 3000 sales in Wales and is available to download from Mal's website.

New Albums From Pope (16th Jun 1999)

Mal Pope has released two new albums on Monday. The first, Land of my Children is released in conjunction with an HTV series called "Raised Voices" which started on Sunday. The second, Golden Days is a compilation of 18 tracks from EPs released over the past few years. Both albums have mainstream distribution through Telstar.

Pope Riding High (10th Feb 1999)

Welsh singer-songwriter Mal Pope is continuing to enjoy success, with a track he sung on from the City Of Gold album sitting at number 18 in the US Adult Contemporary charts, and with an appearance on Songs of Praise scheduled for 21st February. Pope continues to enjoy good press and album sales in the UK after Simon Mayo praised him incessantly one morning on his Radio One show.
