Laura-Anne has just released Fragments, her first official album release, recorded in the summer of 2002 with her band at MACH2 Studios. The album is a culmination of songs which have been written over the course of eighteen months, some used in local & national gigs and others purposely written specially for the album. Samples of some of the tracks can be heard on her website.
IndigoEcho have hit number one on the mp3.com Edinburgh chart. The new Beyond the Bars album is pretty much finished, with just a little post-production work still to do. Mechunkandoolan have a new album called Humble Pie out. Susan Enan and Laura-Anne both play tonight at the belFEST event - both women are also currently working on albums. Love Crusade's debut single Coming Home is available now. Coastal Dune will be appearing with Caroline Alexander at the Borderline later this month.
Sabio and Mr. E supported Dodgy on Saturday in Portsmouth. Sabio received a plug on Radio One recently when Corder Marshall (Mushroom records) described them as a hot act to watch out for. Osmium have just performed at Greenbelt and Soul Survivor and may be supporting Caroline Alexander on her next tour. Rendered release their new album on September 15th. Laura-Anne has video footage of her Greenbelt gig on her website. Macarion have a new lineup and are promising gigs and recordings soon. Formula 7 have a special offer on -- both their CDs for only 10 pounds.
Northern Irish Laura-Anne has revealed that the final version of her Writing In The Sand album will take a slightly different form from the one we recently reviewed. The two cover songs have been removed and a new live track has been added. The album will be available through mp3.com
