Abundant Summer Ball (19th Jul 2000)

The Abundant club is holding its summer ball this Saturday in Ladbroke Grove. The event coincides with a weekend of action by the Jubilee 2000 campaign, who are holding an "internet day of action" on Friday as well as various vigils and events over the weekend. Abundant have been asked not to use any indoor fireworks this year, after setting off the alarms on multiple occasions in 1999.

Destiny Calling for Jubilee 2000 (23rd Apr 2000)

Destiny Calling are holding a fundraising gig in support of the Jubilee 2000 Coalition's campaign for the cancellation of the debts of the world's poorest countries. The event will take place at 7pm on the 29th April at Fleet Methodist Church in Hampshire.

The Pope in Shades (29th Sep 1999)

U2's Bono met with the Pope last week as part of a group representing the Jubilee 2000coalition. The Pontif was apparently delighted when the star handed him his sunglasses. Jubilee 2000 is calling for the leaders of the G7 group of leading industrial nations to meet again before the New Year to agree the cancellation of third world debts. Break The Chains with Nervous Passenger and IndigoEcho (24th Feb 1999)

Scottish bands IndigoEchoandNervous Passenger are due to play at the Jubilee 2000 event in Edinburgh on June 12th. The show will be at the Traverse Theatre and the bands look forward to supporting this cause.
