Just interrupting the usual Britlinks News transmission to let you know that Britlinks has recently launched the all new Sarah Masen website at sarahmasen.com. The graphical design side of things isn't quite finished but there are some already-popular discussion boards and lots of information about Sarah's new album, The Dreamlife of Angels which has recently been played by Bob Harris on Radio 2. Sarah will be at Greenbelt this year and will be doing a UK tour during June.
Kato's Seasider was released in the USA through Rhythm House at the end of October. We are now receiving unconfirmed reports that the band have signed with ICC Records to record a new album, which they'll be working on for the remainder of this year. The band are hoping to arrange a large UK tour for next April.
Tongues of Fire is the name of a new worship compilation from US-based Rhythm House Records, who have been responsible for US releases from Terl Bryant, Dave Fitzgerald and Adrian Snell and who are currently working with Kato. The compilation draws together material by a wide range of artists, including Ben Okafor (currently preparing to release his new album), Maire Brennan, Dave Fitzgerald and Terl Bryant. The label claims the album represents music from across the world and say it is dedicated to exploring new sounds within the context of worship. No UK release dates are currently available.
Steve Stockman's popular show on Radio Ulster, Rhythm and Soul, is now accessible to anyone in the UK and Ireland with a Sky Digital system on channel 929. This weekend the show will feature a special pre-recorded session with Martyn Joseph and on May 26th a special live recording of the show (to be broadcast on the 28th) will take place in the Group Theatre, Belfast. The show will feature Booley, Susan Enan and Brian Houston. To find out how to get tickets visit Stocki's website.
One, IndigoEcho's recent release, has been picked up for inclusion in the HMV catalogue so should be available through all HMV stores across the country as well as on their website. The band are planning to head south for the Greenbelt festival and are also doing a tour of England in November. Contact them if you want to book them for a date during that tour.
Kato have struck a deal with True Tunes Records/Rhythm House (a label who have already distributed releases by Terl Bryant and Dave Fitzgerald) to distribute a revised version of their Seasider EP. The seven original tracks will be joined by four more to make a full album. Kato's song "Superhero" has been shortlisted in the international songwriting competition "Unisong". Frontman Keith Ayling told us "Getting to the finals has given Kato welcome worldwide exposure and respect for the quality of the material we're writing".
Julie Lord recently appeared on the Cross Rhythms cable tv programme where they showed footage of her singing "Everybody Needs Love" from her Lifetime album. Internet radio station Farmfresh Music have playlisted "Even Now" from the same album.
Cross Rhythms have announced that their festival this year will be called "Genesis 2000: New Beginnings". The event will have a new evangelistic focus and the lineup so far includes Noel Richards, yfriday and Tomorrow's Girl.
Iain Archer will be playing live a couple of times in the next month. The first show will be with his new band Brew on the 24th November at London's Kashmir Club, and the second will be a solo set along with Bell Jar and Flow at the Half Moon in Putney.
UCB Cross Rhythms, the UK's only national CCM radio station is experimenting with a Real Audio feed meaning listeners no longer need a satellite dish to pick up transmissions. More details at the Cross Rhythms website.
