Cathy Burton's highly anticipated solo album Burn Out is to be distributed by Fierce Distribution, the new distribution arm of Delirious' Furious? Records operation. The album is to be released some time between March 23rd and 25th in the UK. Cathy last night played two sets at the Kashmir Klub in London, including one through a drum monitor which was the only amplification available after a power cut. She will be appearing at Spring Harvest. Fierce Distribution continue to build their roster, with plans to release the new album by American act All Star United at the same time as Cathy's album appears and negotiations under way with other acts including Superhero.
Ian Hamilton has resigned as managing director of Alliance Music in order to take up a position with Compassion International. Currently two dates into the Glo UK tour, Delirious? have announced a special one off date at Shepherd's Bush Empire in late December. Announcing the Christmas show on the band's website, manager Tony Patoto said that the staff at the Empire had been so impressed with the band's latest sold out show at the venue that they were more than happy to add an extra date.
Furious? Records appear eager to sell off Delirious? merchandise and have just announced a sale with big discounts on t-shirts. Check out their official website for details. Presumably this means a new range will appear soon. Remember to check out the news about the new album which we reported on the 14th May.
Jonathan Brown, who currently runs Word UK is moving to Delirious' Furious? Records to help develop the label. A full announcement from Furious? is expected soon and Word are working hard to fill the gap which Jonathan's departure will leave. It looks likely that the label will be expanding its roster over the coming months, although this has yet to be confirmed. We'll bring you more details as they are announced.
Delirious? press man Craig Borlase has stepped aside from his role at Furious? Records to explore pastures new. Among Borlase's recent projects is another co-writing role with Soul Survivor's Mike Pilavachi.
Littlehampton based chunky-pop-rockers delirious? announced recently that they have signed a distribution deal with Richard Branson's V2 label for all non-UK territories. The band are extremely excited by the prospect of working with the label, who have been looking for some time for a flagship UK act. Delirious? will continue to distribute products through their own Furious? Records label inside the UK.
The next release from the delirious? stable will be a book, Purepop?, charting the growth of the band and their continuing mission to take their chunky-pop songs to the wider public. The band's recent showcase at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire was quite a success both with the fans and the 120 or so music industry insiders who were present. The new album is to be entitled Mezzamorphis and Furious? Records are currently in talks with Virgin Records... more news as it comes in. The official Delirious? website is now up at http://www.delirious.co.uk but unfortunately makes such extensive use of Shockwave that many of us can't get in.
