The decision to include a local band not normally found at "Christian" events has drawn some press attention for Cheltenham's Pentecost 2000 event. The Chaos Engine, who have been invited as part of the event organisers' attempt to encourage local talent, wouldn't be drawn on their beliefs, saying simply that they "don't believe in following religion blindly" (which hopefully none of us do...). Other artists slated to appear at the event at Cheltenham Racecourse include Delirious?, our current indie of the month skinflowers, World Wide Message Tribe, Urban Militia, and Expanse.
So how many Britlinks artists and readers are getting involved in BBC Music Live? The Amazing Pilots, Expanse, and NSC are all doing special gigs as part of the live music events happening across the UK, and Vigilantes of Love (whose new album is out today through Compass) are kicking off their UK tour with an appearance in Wales
Expanse will be playing in Montpellier Gardens, Cheltenham, as part of BBC Music Live on May 29th. The band will also be taking part in an event at the Racecourse to mark Pentecost 2000. After spending a lot of time rehearsing and refining their material, the band are anxious to play live and are looking for anyone who might be interested in them as a support act.
