Axlanbay are a recent introduction to our band listings. Following quickly in the wake of Eskimo Sunbed, former members Luke Morgan and Gareth Edward have joined forces Joey and Rory O'Hare on bass and drums and are currently rehearsing hard.
After 3 years together, Eskimo Sunbed have decided to call it a day. They say that this "has mainly been due to balancing the pressures of being an up and coming band and other commitments". This would appear to have been a fairly sudden decision: with Gareth leaving the band 2 weeks ago to concentrate on a full-time music career and Christian subsequently deciding he wanted to focus on his session playing, the other two band members didn't feel it right to continue as Eskimo Sunbed.
Punk band Cephas are returning to the studio to demo some new material. Their Happy Go Loser EP is about to enter its second print-run. Iona have had to cancel their Glasgow concert this week as the venue's roof isn't suitable... Love Crusade have won through to the quarter final of the Lowenbrau sponsored Battle of the Bands. Eskimo Sunbed's CD is now available by mail order. Murph got their first bit of national publicity in a recent issue of Melody Maker.
