Emmaus are just about to begin recording their next project, Emmaus Community Praise which they describe as "a real change of tack". It's the first time since their Across The River album that they've done a community-based (as opposed to band-based, the band came out of the community) album. The band's Rojo was recently to be seen taking part in Popstars on SM:TV on Saturday mornings as a vocal coach and he's also been helping record the Irish world cup song.
Rojo and Joanne from Emmaus are about to make another trip to the USA in order to undertake a 17-date tour promoting the stateside release of their latest album, Closer Nearer. The rest of the band will join them for the "Godstock" festival in San Antonio, Texas on November 24th which they will be headlining. The band recently took part in "Europe Arise" in Turin during the buildup to the World Youth Day celebrations in Rome.
The new album from Emmaus is now available, described by the band as a real return to their roots, with lots of acoustic and celtic instrumentation. The album, which will be released in the US in a couple of months through Grassroots Distribution, focusses very much on prayer, praise and worship and comes hot on the heels of the band's recent worship compilation which brought together material they'd written over the past ten years.
Trust Surrender ... Ten Years of Praise and Worship is the title of the latest release from Emmaus. The album draws together material from their past five albums along with two new tracks. The band are also about to release Closer Nearer, their latest studio album. The album comes out on April 21st and sees the band exploring some new directions.
Emmaus are working on abest-ofalbum to encompass tunes from all of their praise and worship basedreleases. There will be an accompanying music book for the album. The bandcontinue to work on an album of all new material, but without Lynne, whohas left the band to spend time on other activities within the community, and Ian has left the band to work with Booley. Emmaus' track "You'reBeautiful" is to be featured on the soundtrack of the upcoming film,Babies written by and starring a friend of the band.
Ireland's Emmaus have halted production of their next rock album inorder to focus on a worship-oriented release.
Emmaus will be making two visits to the UK this summer, for the Bright Lights and New Dawn festivals at the start of July and August respectively. The band have so far recorded two tracks for their next album and plan to lay down more before long.
Congratulations to Greg Fromholz of Emmaus and his wife Alex who recently had their first child (a girl). Emmaus have recently started work on their next studio album which they hope to finish soon. 3 songs have been recorded and about 20 more are to be recorded before they narrow down the choice for inclusion. Emmaus are also talking about reissuing some of their early work, which was praise and worship based, on CD later this year to celebrate their tenth anniversary.
