Delirious' Pride (21st Apr 2003)

Delirious? have recently recorded a cover of U2's "Pride (In The Name of Love)" for a forthcoming American project to release a tribute album to the Irish band. According to Furious? records the album also features a contribution from POD, which hints that this tribute album may be appearing under some kind of 'christian' banner. The band say they are 65% of the way to completing recording on their new album which they hope to mix in July under the watchful eye of Nashville-based producer Julian Kindred who has relocated to the UK for a year to help get the album completed.

Underworld Delirious? (22nd Jan 2003)

Word is appearing on the net that Delirious? and Cathy Burton will be playing at Camden Underworld on Tuesday night. The 500 capacity venue is significantly smaller than any Delirious? have played in the capital for some years and this gig is apparently to be an industry showcase of some sort, with a limited number of tickets on sale to the public at a very low price. Expect an announcement on the delirious? website shortly.

In their latest newsletter Delirious? have announced plans to tour again this Spring. No details are yet available but they promise new visuals and a revised set. The lyrics suggest a continuation of the band's return to writing "worship songs".

Delirious Releases (15th Nov 2002)

delirious? will be releasing a new live album in the UK on the 30th November 2002. Recorded on the road over the past 2 years, they tell us that Access:d is "the premium rate next chapter in that weird story they call Delirious?". The album is explicitly being described as capturing the "d:worship experience", perhaps hinting that the band are re-embracing the "worship" label. The packaging will once again make use of a 'can' to hold the CD. A repackaged version of the band's most recent UK release Audiolessonover will be released in the US as Touch on Tuesday.

Delirious Touchdown (09th Oct 2002)

Delirious?? keep as busy as ever and are currently working towards the release of Touch, the US equivalent of their Audiolessonover? album. Touch has nine of the earlier release's tracks, along with "Love Is The Compass," and "Touch". The songs have been remixed and they've played with the track listing a bit, making this the most significant difference between Delirious?' US and UK catalogue to date. The band are also preparing for a new live release, Access:d, which they say "reloads, updates and lays down the very latest d:worship experience," continuing the confusion over whether the band see their future in the realm of worship events or chart singles.

Newish Delirious Album (03rd Oct 2001)

It appears that the recently reported release of "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever" as the next Delirious? single is in part intended to tie in with the UK release of Deeper, a compilation of more worship focussed material gathered from the band's albums to date, from Cutting Edge onwards. The album has recently been released in the US and is expected to be released in the UK in early January with a few as yet undisclosed changes from the US release.

Next Delirious? Single Marks Departure (30th Sep 2001)

The next Delirious? single will mark a departure from the band's previous separation of their mainstream and worship material. In a bizarre move, the band have decided to release a new version of Cutting Edge-era worship song "I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever". Cross Rhythms quote Jonathan Brown of Furious? Records as saying: "Delirious? fans may be surprised by the choice of song but when they hear this stunning new version I think many will agree that it makes sense to pitch it at the mass audience.” The single will be released towards the end of the d:tension tour on December 10th. Before that the band's Fierce Distribution will be releasing "Schizophrenic" by Earthsuit (29th October) and "Close To Myself" by Kendall Payne. Both artists performed at this year's Greenbelt festival, with Earthsuit going down particularly well with the assembled Dum Dums fans. What do you think about these single releases. Are delirious? deciding that they need to win back their core Christian audience? Discuss it on our discussion boards.

d:tension - Delirious? Tour (22nd Sep 2001)

The band haveyet to confirm details of the album launch.

Delirious? at Number 26 (10th Jun 2001)

Delirious' new single Waiting For The Summer has entered the charts at number 26, three places below its mid-week position and, despite more pre-publicity in mainstream channels, the lowest a d: single has entered the charts since the second release of Deeper. The band are currently on tour with Bon Jovi and will be hoping that the attention they receive there will help the single to a strong second week placing.

The first Graham Kendrick album in six years ago is currently being recorded. What Grace is produced by Andy Piercy (remember After The Fire?) and includes contributions from Matt Redman and Delirious? frontman Martin Smith. The Chaos Engine, who have been invited as part of the event organisers' attempt to encourage local talent, wouldn't be drawn on their beliefs, saying simply that they "don't believe in following religion blindly" (which hopefully none of us do...). Other artists slated to appear at the event at Cheltenham Racecourse include Delirious?, our current indie of the month skinflowers, World Wide Message Tribe, Urban Militia, and Expanse.

The new Delirious? album Glo will release on Saturday 29th July. The official Delirious? website which was down recently as it was moved to a server located withing the Furious? offices is now back up.
