We don't normally run a news story on new bands added to the site, but there've been three new ones today and we're also looking for some help gathering information... First up is Maddy Leigh Blues Band who are currently recording an album with Meltdown Music. Another addition is Rif who are currently working on their second album which they hope to release this summer. And finally there's the Alliance-signed Kindle, featuring former Blueberry guitarist Dan Boreham. We're currently trying to track down up to date contact details for Bushbaby and Athlete (formerly Wondercub/Cub), so if anyone can help us out there, do drop us a line. Don't forget you can discuss these and other bands on our discussion boards.
Dust have released the follow-up to their See Red EP. Titled Spirit, the EP was recorded with delirious? side-kick Paul Burton at Ground Zero in Littlehampton. The band will be appearing on Channel 5's The Alpha Zone on the 27th June. The show kicks off at 8.30am and also features Sam Fox.
Littlehampton's other indie-popsters, Blueberry, were recently rumoured to be in talks with Sony. It appears that Sony were only interested in lead vocalist Cathy Burton. The band plan to record another EP independently and hope to record an album in the summer, possibly with a label.
Okay, they're not British, but they're my favourite band and their support acts are British. So here are the Vigilantes of Love UK tour dates:
