Sub-5

Sub-5 have come together to produce original songs that explore issues, situations and emotions familiar to all through considered lyrics and approachable music. After several years in a variety of separate bands (learning and playing differing styles of music), Sub-5 grew from the desire each member holds to put their previous experience and brightly burning ambition into a successful contemporary rock band making well-crafted lyrical songs. Not afraid to take the direct approach, Sub-5 present their music in a manner aimed to attract mass-market sales, airplay and live success. They aspire to the creative and commercial heights of U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Counting Crows, Crowded House, Doves, Linkin Park, etc. Dan is also a graphic designer; he put together the cover artwork for the attached 3-track demo CDR. Ben works at a major record company. Paul is a guitar technician, repairing instruments and working for West End musicals. Phil works at a London based radio station. All four have played gigs in a wide range of venues – from those support slots where the bar staff are in the majority through University gigs to major festivals including Greenbelt and The Big Day Out. With their first acoustic gig at London's 12 Bar Club under their belts, Sub-5 have announced the launch of their website. The band are reported to have paid to an appreciative audience made up mainly of industry-types. They are now putting the finishing touches to a new set of recordings and are due to appear at East London's 93 Feet East in January.
