Neil Alton
Born in England, raised in Scotland and now living in Northern Ireland. Neil first began writing songs on the piano when he was twelve, at fifteen he gave up on the piano on the discovery of the guitar. Learned to play the guitar through Pearl Jam and Roy Orbison music books. For five years he wrote songs, toured and recorded as the front man for the band Nervous Passenger: whose independent album ‘Taller Trees’ achieved moderate success in the UK. Nervous Passenger played in every type of venue from Scout Halls to Concert Halls, from the smallest pubs to the biggest churches. In August 2001, in front of a home crowd at the Edinburgh Festival, Nervous Passenger played their emotional final gig. After taking three months off to consider life after the band, in January 2002 Neil began performing solo dates around the country.
Neil Alton, former lead singer with Scotland's Nervous Passenger is currently working on his debut solo album, the follow-up to The Leadlined EP. Since the break-up of Nervous Passenger Neil has been working hard to develop his solo material and has been keeping busy with quite a number of live appearances around Scotland.
