Macarion
Macarion got together partly through worship events and partly through a summer fete at a school. The band still touches on the worship side of things but now they could best be described as guitar rock. The songs move from subtle to powerfully heartfelt and the music has the potential to grow into spontanious journeys across many landscapes. The band is a 4 piece - Nik Keefe is lead singer and has a history of worship leading, Andy Balls is the drummer, Lawrence Cockrill is bass player, and also a past worship leader at a uni CU, and Tim Keefe is keyboard and guitar (he also moonlights for saving lenny with his sax.)
Sabio and Mr. E supported Dodgy on Saturday in Portsmouth. Sabio received a plug on Radio One recently when Corder Marshall (Mushroom records) described them as a hot act to watch out for. Osmium have just performed at Greenbelt and Soul Survivor and may be supporting Caroline Alexander on her next tour. Rendered release their new album on September 15th. Laura-Anne has video footage of her Greenbelt gig on her website. Macarion have a new lineup and are promising gigs and recordings soon. Formula 7 have a special offer on -- both their CDs for only 10 pounds.
