Julie Lord
Julie Lord, originally from Upminster in Essex, has been singing and playing in bands for most of her life. At the age of sixteen she was one half of a folk/blues duo which toured local folk clubs. She then became lead vocalist with the band Crossfire and performed over 300 gigs in the South-East. When Julie moved up to the North-East of England she fronted a CCM band called "Heart & Soul" who played numerous commercial and church gigs, including and appearance at the Crossfire Festival in Liverpool. When "Heart & Soul" went the way of all bands, Julie decided to begin a solo career in the mainstream sphere. She spent a successful year and a half in a hotel residency entertaining holidaymakers, but now feels drawn to perform her own original material in a variety of venues. Julie has been writing songs for as long as she can remember. Her style is not easy to define. Take a large helping of Blues, mix it with some Jazz and R&B and you may be getting near. Lyrically, she deliberately sets out to cross the great divide between out and out Christian material and the mainstream. Her debut solo album 'Lifetime' is released on the New Dawn record label and is available now. The album is the product of her songwriting and production partnership with Andy Curtis. Andy runs Griffin Studios and has assisted with the performance, arranging and engineering of the tracks. Julie enjoys nothing more than performing her songs live.
