Band Photo

Dr. Jones are a nine piece band from Edinburgh with their roots in acid jazz, classic r'n'b and rock. These influences combine to create a unique brand of funk. Primarily a live band, Dr. Jones are fronted by Eaun Macrae who, along with the supporting vocals of Karen Porter, define the essence of the band in their powerful and distinctive melodies. Andrew Barber, Dave Prentice and Steve Meeker deliver tight, mellifluous brass harmonies to create a soulful edge to the Dr. Jones sound. The rhythm section form a backbone to the band and give it that funk element. Dr jones has emerged to the foreground as one of scotland's finest funk bands with critical acclaim from national press and an appearance in the scottish final of the holsten pils undiscovered originals. their international reputation has been enhanced by the success of the song 'baby' which has twice appeared as a featured track on garageband.com. dr jones continue their effort to bring their brand of funk music to the attention of the national media having featured on lanarkshire tv's music asylum and with a series of energized gigs around central scotland. more than just gigs these events combine powerful music with a powerful message.
