In 1992, Dee joined the Birmingham Mass Choir when she was just fourteen, gaining invaluable experience as the choir toured the UK for the next six years. One highlight happened in December 1995 when the choir backed Mick Hucknell and Simply Red for a special performance for the Euro '96 football draw. "Working with the choir took away lots of my inhibitions about singing in front of large crowds. It also helped me to develop power in my voice and gave me the much needed stamina to sing for longer periods." At the beginning of 1998, Dee felt the moment was right to move forward and establish herself as a solo artist. Not content to simply sing material written by other people, she began writing songs drawing on her own experiences. The focus for her songs was very simple. She explains, "They are for anyone who is broken, in pain and feels that no one cares about them. I'm here to tell them that Jesus loves them and He is the answer." Although she has played extensively throughout the UK a recent trip to minister in Nigeria proved to be a rich experience. She recalls, "I learned so much in Africa, it was such a blessing simply to be there. I felt honoured to have the unique privilege to minister in Lagos. The people of Nigeria really know how to worship God. When they worshipped they went for it with all of their being. One concert where I ministered started at 10.30pm and the people were still worshipping and dancing at 6.30 am! I have never seen anything like it in my life!" Dee Moore's life is a life in motion and a life expressed in her inspiring songs. As she has received comfort and healing from God, so she is passing that comfort on wherever she sings and wherever her music is heard. She remains excited about the future and yet level headed about her own talents saying simply, " I do not represent perfection - far from it, I represent what God can do with imperfection."
