Bryn Haworth
Having appeared on bills with such artists as Led Zeppelin, Jefferson Airplane and Taj Mahal, Bryn Haworth has been called a "musician's musician" and is known particularly for his slide guitar prowess. He has recorded ten gospel albums since his conversion to Christianity in 1974 and now travels extensively performing concerts both solo and with a band as well as running guitar workshops and music and worship seminars. His latest album Songs & Hymns, recorded at Fairport Convention's Woodworm Studios in February '99 is an acoustic, Blues/Folk fusion of some of his favourite hymns, as well as some of his own new worship songs including 'JesusThe Man' and 'The Glory Zone'.
The H3 Christian Music Festival is a new event launching this year in Milton Keynes. Running over the 22nd and 23rd June 2002, the event is being run as a benefit for the Bridgebuilder trust who work to promote the gospel in the schools of Milton Keynes. Bands booked so far include Kato, Bryn Haworth, As If..., Bell Jar, Cathy Burton, cult Greenbelt favourite Griff Pilchard and a range of others. The organisers promise camping facilities for 300, great food and drink, craft stalls, record/book shop, quiet area, Sunday morning services, and a relaxed atmosphere. Tickets are now available at all St Andrews Bookshops, priced at £15 to the end of March and £25 thereafter. Tickets also available by post from the address in our festivals listings.
